George Lauder's first EP under the name of Solitude has been described as being "original" and having "distinct qualities" to each and every song. Each track expresses a different motif whether that being love, happiness and even the simple feeling of being at one with the world.
The first track, A Song: Regarding Angus, opens with soft electric guitar picking and calming vocals, which sets the mood for the rest of the EP. The song portrays a young man lost with himself and the world, and thus resorting to other means to work around his misfortunes.
Come Back Down, the second track on the EP, has long been renowned as one of George's most well written pieces on the EP and to this day. Tragic story alongside an opening vocal line which sticks with the listener.
The third track, Country Roads, further emphasises George's artistic and musical ability with soft vocals topped off with a thought provoking harmonica part that is complimented by the reverb and gentle guitar strumming.
Lost in Solitude, track four, could be seen as the title track to this EP. A song inspired by the feeling of being alone as well as at peace with the world. Lost in Solitude is one of George's favourite songs that he has recorded, mainly due to the piercing lead guitar and build up at the end of the song.
Those Eyes, the final song on the EP, is one of George's only love songs. Written during Spring of 2012, it echoes a relationship where everything is perfect. The vocal harmonies at the end of the song, all sung by Lauder, are reminiscint of the season and the love that is being portrayed.
The bonus track, Jigsaw, is a rough demo from late 2010 when George was only 16, and it could be considered an answer to Those Eyes and the aftermath of heart break and sorrow.
